The pedal arms are pressed on to the crankshaft, they need to be pulled with this puller to service the bottom crankshaft/lubricate the bearings etc. The pedals are held on with a shouldered bolt, tighten the bolt carefully or you will break it off. Best to seat the pedals with a few blows with a plastic mallet, then install the allen retaining bolt with blue Loctite.
